Rescue F.A.Q.
If you wish to adopt a Vizsla
The Vizsla Rescue Fund, Inc. does not foster or place Vizslas in
need, though several Board Members and Volunteers are rescue coordinators. Our main goal is to raise funds to support those who
do the foster and placement work, such as helping pay for the medical needs of such dogs.
If you wish to rehome or adopt a Vizsla, click here.
US residents should also search the Vizsla Club of America web site.
They list regional coordinators who may know if there are
dogs available for placement in your area.
Another source
is the Ingle and Mead web site
which often lists
dogs in need.
Remember that some dogs can be flown
to new homes but not during the summer heat. The airlines are restricted to
temps from 20 to 85 degrees for carrying animals so your search might need to
be more narrow during the hot months. New airline security measures in the U.S.
might make plane travel difficult.
If you would like to see a sample application of what is
asked on adoption applications you are welcome to refer to
the Utah / Idaho Vizsla Rescue web site. Each region may use a slightly
different application and may ask a different adoption price
depending on the region and the costs for each dog.
If we can help you further, please don't hesitate to ask.
