Mission Statement

The Vizsla Rescue Fund, Inc. is an independent volunteer organization dedicated to assisting with rescue efforts for the Vizsla breed of dogs.

The Vizsla Rescue Fund, Inc.'s mission includes: production of fund raising projects to assist rescue coordinators, humane shelters, and individuals directly involved with Vizsla rescue; contributions to the financial requirements of the Vizsla rescue community worldwide, though the majority of need seems to be in the U.S. at this time; and production of rescue related educational materials including a web presence.

We intend to focus additional support in matters that fall outside the domain of the Vizsla Welfare Foundation including, but not limited to non-VCA rescue providers, and rescue supply and equipment needs. Further, elderly rescues, purebred and crosses will be included in our efforts as we believe crosses not only have many of the unique needs of purebred Vizslas, but are often born due to the lack of responsibility on the part of the owners of purebred Vizslas.

We will not be involved with the individual rescue of dogs. The VCA has a system in place for that, supplemented by the many individuals working independently and with local and regional clubs. In fact, many individuals involved in the Vizsla Rescue Fund are front line rescue workers and will continue to wear both hats. We will continue fund raising efforts to provide immediate response grants for special and extraordinary cases that do not qualify for assistance elsewhere.
