A beautiful original watercolor by well-known pet portrait artist, Samantha Hickman (www.yellowdogonline.com). The print is available as a limited edition signed and numbered print and as an unsigned art print.
Originally commissioned by the Trails End
Vizsla Club of Oregon, the watercolor is a tribute to two dogs involved
in a tragic abuse case in Arizona. The two young vizslas were found emaciated and abandoned at a local
horse racing track in Tucson. The dogs had been horribly neglected and, after extraordinary efforts to save them,
were humanely euthanized due to complications from numerous untreated
medical conditions. Because of the heinous nature of the dogs'
conditions, the Pima County Sheriff's Department and the Animal Abuse
Task Force designated the case as felony animal abuse, punishable by
incarceration. Vizsla Rescue Fund, Inc has a number of these prints available for sale to fund current rescue efforts.
Ms. Hickman's watercolor beautifully depicts the image of the two vizsla dogs looking out at a better life. The prints are offered on an acid free cover weight Lustro art paper. Available as a signed and numbered limited edition of 250 for $55 or an unsigned print for $30, the art quality 14" X 18" prints (with an 11" X 15" image) will be available for shipment about October 15, 2001, but orders are being taken now. The prints will be sent by priority mail in a sturdy tube. The image is a fitting tribute to this heartbreaking case.
